Reactions is a show that uncovers the hidden chemistry all around us. We answer life's burning questions that you’ve always wanted to ask, like:
- How Do Pregnancy Tests Work?
- What Exactly Happened at Chernobyl?
- What Are Century Eggs?
- How Can You See an Atom?
We answer those questions and many, many more on our channel! Subscribe and turn on notifications so don't miss the newest reactions videos.
Reactions team: Matthew Radcliff, Elaine Seward, Andrew Sobey, Janali Thompson, Darren Weaver, Kerri Jansen, Alex Dainis, George Zaidan. Created by Adam Dylewski way back in 2014.

Science Doesn't Understand How Ice Forms
What starts off as a simple desire to get a macro shot of a droplet of water freezing quickly leads George to the very edge of scientific knowledge and a shocking fact about most of the water on Earth.
*Note: in the droplets I’m freezing, all the dendrites would have likely come from a *single* nucleation point, not multiple ones.

Why would you make a cocktail with ~curdled~ milk? Join George as he answers this question by accidentally making the best cocktail he’s ever tasted, thus achieving lasting Internet fame.* *We need your help with this last step. Correction: 4:03 I’m showing the phosphate groups getting protonated by the acid, but in reality there are some amino acid sidechains (which are not on my drawing) that...
Did the Chemical Building Blocks of Life Form in Space?
Переглядів 6 тис.2 місяці тому
For years scientists thought complex molecules could only be formed on Earth. But what if we did find these kinds of molecules out in space? What if they could be formed not just in and around biology but also in cold, dark corners of the universe? Scientists have wondered if they might have been early seeds for life on earth, or even a stockpile of molecular building blocks deposited onto our ...
Does Toyota Know Something That We Don’t?
Переглядів 232 тис.3 місяці тому
The 2044 Toyota Prius might just be powered by… ammonia. Ammonia is combustible, and holds promise as a relatively low-effort way to decarbonize the internal combustion engine - but the devil’s in the details. Join George as he discovers at least one detail by burning stuff in his basement. *Note:* the model piston we used in this video shows air and fuel entering the cylinder together. This de...

It's crazy that you used Celsius
The hangover I got while drinking everclear and rum made me stop drinking. It’s been about 10 years.
Sugar can 100% be sharp During Christmas I would sharpen candy canes with my tongue 💀
first and last time i drank Everclear half pint, i woke up with the biggest headache, sick to my stomach for 3 days.
You're one coffee away from making white russian.
Is the Vsauce text font intentional?
I used an old floppy disk to look at the eclipse once and it worked surprisingly well
Is that Minthal Oil or an extract?
This is how our future cities and infrastructure should look
Can I get that leftover caffeine?
Bro great advice! Let me give you some. It is time to shave your hair off.
Using c man come on. 😂
I took ONE shot of everclear my freshman year because we all wanted to try it. Never again. My throat burned so bad and my stomach felt like it was on fire and felt like that for a solid 15 minutes 😂
Yeah the fact that it's in literally everything is kinda an issue. Thanks war on drugs. In a move reminiscent of the prohibition and the addition of poison to alcohol not meant for consumption,(which killed tens of thousands of people) acetaminophen being in literally everything is both a move to punish people who may abuse meds and kill them too. The downside being it's actually difficult to combine meds for those that actually need to do so. One of the many things one of my family members complains about as a doc.
Thank you for saying this *_after_* I could have needed this pro tip! *SMH up in heaven right now*
Possibly stupid question: why not just take glutathione?
oddly, ya skipped the part about the suggested dose being very near the over dose. guess that's not too important....
Cotton candy is fiberglass.😂
That would be like that one scene from rango
My stomach hurts and I have a headache just from looking at it
So the obligatory question: is it possible to go too far with menthol? Like...can you actually "break" nerves with overstimulation?
Best thing to filter Vodka is my liver.
Legal in only some states as well!
That's why modern automobiles have fed mandated emissions, so you can't burn 100 plus gain alcohol in modern engines!!
Hydrogen power is the future of vehicle power. EV doesnt have the battery technology the military is willing to release to the public. Amonia is being over used already and is more expensive than hydrogen. Toyota is developing the MODERNIZED hydrogen powered car right now. Though the technology has existed for about 100 years. Bet money all the largest oil producers are all looking at hydrogen production in their near future.
Its non alcoholic in the same sense that decaf coffee is decaf
“Let’s find out” *Grabs car keys*
Maybe I should stop drinking this stuff
Cilantro is a big part of Vietnam's cuisine, pho, bhan mi, etc. sadly it ruined my experience. i dont have problems with the smell, didnt notice anything wrong, only when i bite into it, for me it tasted like shoe polish to insects.😢
Mix with grape Kool Aid and drink, Wake up next day hearing, Do you know what you done last night ? .
Even an alcoholics liver says " Pass"
We just call it "spirytus", normal thing in supermarket.
"+" = anode and " - "= cathode
you’re so rad Alex! I could listen to you all day
Does anyone remember when there was a red skull and crossbones on the label? Also wasn’t the label like an ear of corn?
Wear a hat
This is what I used to take after doing mdma lol
It’s food vsauce
Before you New Yorkers break an arm patting yourselves on the back, you may want to check out the Rookery building in Chicago from 15 years earlier. A steel structure with a Frank Lloyd Wright lobby. Truly magnificent.
Cats are deficient in glutathion so never give a cat acetaminophen
Clever !1 thanks
Thank You
Idk i can buy this shit at any store for 4 times less price lmao, also theres this purble thing called denaturated alcohol, around 96%, you get a random chance to loose your eyesight tho cuz sometimes it has methanol.
The shipping industry is also investing heavily in ammonia engines
And that's why you freeze it instead
"Freeze distilling" tops out a bit lower, around 94%, and that's only if you have the equipment to very slowly bring the temp down to around -120° C.
Can’t they bundle the NAC in with the Tylenol?
You can just wash your face with dish soap it breaks the capcacin bonds as well
Fun fact If you spray yourself with pepper spray enough you will build a tolerance to it
HATE cilantro team here!
Do NOT take NAC after drinking alcohol , take it before
